Local Business Owner

Who this page is for

You run a local business. You want Dayboro eyes, not algorithmic guesswork.

Facebook ads bid you against every gym in Queensland. Google Ads cost you $6 a click. Dayboro.au has 2,134 locally-filtered readers a month. This page explains two separate things you can do here — one free, one paid — and how they’re different.

Two separate products, two different owners

People confuse these. The Lions Business Directory is run — and paid for — through the Dayboro Lions Club. The advertiser platform is run by dayboro.au. You can use both, but the money goes to different places and does different jobs.

Lions Club · funds community projects

The Dayboro Lions Business Directory

Who runs it: The Dayboro Lions Club. The paper-based directory they’ve printed for years — and now the online version as well. We (dayboro.au) host the online version free of charge to the Lions, as a community contribution.

What it costs you: Listings are a paid service of the Lions Club, not of dayboro.au. The Lions set the pricing. Your payment goes to Lions community projects — not to us.

What you get: Your business in the paper directory plus the online directory. Name, contact, hours, location on the map.

Good for: Local credibility and discoverability. Being in the Lions directory tells a Dayboro local that you’re part of the community.

Dayboro.au · $60 one-off

The Dayboro.au Advertiser platform

Who runs it: Dayboro.au directly. This is our paid product, separate from the Lions directory.

What it costs you: $60 one-off signup. Not a subscription. Not monthly.

What you get: Display-ad slot with your headline + image + CTA, shown on rotating pages across the site. A/B test two creatives. Real-time impression + click tracking in your own dashboard.

Where you’re seen: By anonymous visitors only — members see ad-free. That means your ad reaches people who haven’t yet subscribed — fresh eyes, not captured audience.

Good for: Active outreach — putting a specific offer, event, or promo in front of newcomers and browsers.

How the Lions relationship works: Dayboro.au hosts the Lions Business Directory online at no cost to the Lions Club. We provide the hosting, the search, the map, the mobile-friendly interface — free to them as a community contribution. The Lions run the directory itself, set their listing prices, and collect the payments to fund community projects. If you want to be in the directory, talk to the Lions, not us.

Honest note

Dayboro.au doesn’t have the reach of Facebook or Google — if your business is statewide or your customers could be anywhere, spend your marketing budget there. Where this platform earns its keep is local-only businesses (tradies, cafes, real estate, professional services in Dayboro and the surrounding 20km) where 2,000 high-intent locals beats 50,000 random impressions. The $60 is a one-off — no sneaky monthly billing. If the dashboard shows it’s not working for you, don’t renew. Simple as that.
